Nothing hurts more than being in a relationship when you realize that they are unable to be with you in the way that you want to be with them. This is a time where things begin to feel hopeless and where you wonder what your worth is. When you wait for someone to love you, you may become disheartened and realize that this was a mistake.
If you like someone who likes you back, you will have a hard time understanding why they are not willing to move things to a new level. You will want to be more serious in life and have a real love connection and when they are not ready, it is painful.
It is so easy to get your feelings hurt when someone is not willing to move forward with you but the truth is that they are probably working on them and it is unfair of you to ask them to give more to you when they are trying to find who they are.
Having feelings with someone that you know is never going to go anywhere can be painful. You are patient and you are kind, but you need to learn to think about yourself first and stop waiting for others to make life good for you.
Someone They Aren’t
When you are in a relationship, you should never want to change someone. You should know that life is not perfect, and people are going to have flaws. You have to understand that your partner is who they are and if you are waiting for them to change then you do not accept them for who they are.
You can never be in a relationship with what you hope that person will be.
If you are with someone that is not as invested as you are then you will find that you are always compromising what you want. You will need to think the relationship over and see if you should stay or go.
Settling for less than you deserve is wrong and if you find you are investing and they aren’t, balance it or move on.
Closing Yourself Off
When you spend all of your energy on someone and you feel that you are constantly working at it, chances are you will lose hope. Things will change and you may realize that you are waiting for someone to be closer to you and they will never be.
Investing time with someone will be hard work. No relationship is easy. If you feel that you are always investing and never getting anything in turn then you will become drained. It is worse when you are with someone that puts a lot of time in everything but you.
If your partner wants to be with you, they will show you but if they act like they don’t, move forward.
Don’t Want It
One of the best things to remember is that if someone says they don’t want to get married, believe them. If they say they don’t want kids, believe them. Do not try to be with someone and get what you want when you have different goals for your future.
Never fall for someone that is not ready to be in a relationship or you will waste all of your energy on someone that isn’t worth it. You need to find someone that is on the same page as you are.
A person that has a lot of baggage from their childhood or past relationships will be hard to be in a relationship with. You can not make someone get over their issues or make them grow up if they aren’t. You need to find someone that is on the same maturity level as you.
Pay attention to your feelings and communicate with your partner. Always have boundaries and never compromise your happiness.
You need to know your worth. You will know if someone likes you based on their actions. Pay attention to how your partner is acting and what they are saying. If they cancel dates a lot and if they show you over and over that they are not serious, believe them. Take the signs and know your actions are louder than your words.
Waiting for someone to love you back or to commit as much as you are to the relationship can be hard. There is no promise that this person will ever be as committed as you are. If you want to be with one specific person, go for it but always remember who you are. Do not put yourself last just to be with someone because your partner needs to make you feel worthy.
You can have any relationship that you want but you will have to let go of things that make you unhappy. Even though it is hard to let go of someone, it can be worth it.
